Battle Frontier Tryouts

Welcome to the new Battle Frontier of the forum! I am the ring leader, cmndr! I know when I did this on Storms, I failed to interest people. The lack of postings and activity was its downfall. But today, we shall overcome what the great Stormbreaker2312 forums couldn't: Run a battle frontier! Here are the rules copied:

1 (THE MOST IMPORTANT RULE OF ALL). NO RYAN/JASMINE! Even if you make an alt account and beg, I'm not gonna even let you join!

2. No making alternate accounts for multiple attempts! If I discover this, I'll just ignore you then, and no chances of getting frontier brain for you!

3. No bullying for spots. I've seen this on chats about people who bash and flame others for whos getting spots because they actually won tryouts. No tolerance here!

Rules can be added later if needed............


If you have an intresting idea, post it here, and it will be put into careful consideration. If not, I do have some ideas to be Recycled.

How about the:

Battle Concert

Where the frontier brain uses sound based pokes.
And the rules are as follows:

1. Go with the beat! - Follow the order of moves posted! Changes every day (or so)!
2. No choice items, encore, taunt, or torment - Can't let you break other rules...
3. All pokemon must have at least one attacking move at least one status move.
4. If you don't use the move specified for that turn, you will be disqualified.
5. No metronome - This is obvious...
6. Recharge moves and charge moves are allowed - As long as they are used on an attack/freebie turn.
7. No Truant! - Sorry Slaking, but you can't just loaf around when you're supposed to attack...
8. Typical clauses - Please don't have movesets that lead to a point where you are forced to break a clause.
9. You may only switch on Freebies
10. If a pokemon faints, the next pokemon should still be following the same 'beat'

How it works:

The turn order will be randomized daily (or so)
They are from 3 options:
Freebie (any move), Attack (only attacking moves), Status (only status moves)

It will be put in an order such as: Freebie, Attack, Status
Where you will do it in that order with repeats.

Please make note of other moves that may have issues with following these standards.

I love the idea mort! It has to be one of the most origional ideas I heard since the Draw Battle! The only thing i find concerened for is why the brain needs a sound-based team. The opponent can use Soundproof to throw you off.

my recommendations (you dont have to agree with this though, i just want your opinion on this change): You are 100% right about music having a beat; but instead of having a sound-based team, why not have a team that have different genres that use on different times? It gives the brain a chance to suprise the opponent by saying what genre hes using by giving a hint.

examples:

Rock: Hard-to-the-core, powerful pokemon (maybe some rock pokemon )

Classical: Slow, elegant Pokemon

Swing: Fast, and lively pokemon

Oldies: Generation 1 pokemon

New Age: Generation 4 Pokemon

Blues: An all-blue Pokemon team!

Techno: Steel (maybe electric) Type Pokemon

I mean, use some sound-based moves on the team, and used sound-based pokes (like exploud or altaria)

alright, this one is approved by me then! I dont know Zelos' opinion yet though. I just recommend that you have a Soundproof clause then because someone down the line is gonna bring an entire team of them.

o, i did forget 1 little thing though. can you somehow do a concert battle with either me or Zelos for practice? you get the spot no matter what, but since we never seen this before, it might be the best idea.

You do a singles battle 6 v 6
Whoever loses that person has to give their best poke to the person who won

It sounds cool, but its WAY too harsh to be done mittens. giving someone their most prized pokemon sounds too insane.

Status inducing moves are to be used?

Maybe the winner gets pokedollars from the other person?

Frontier War is what I would call it

There are no Pokedollars here though, so that puts us at a new roadblock.

Make some kind of point system and you earn it by beating gyms and holding certain positions and stuff?

Well, I could always just make Pokedollars and such, if you guys would prefer it.

So if you do make a system I'll get the spot?

Maybe. It's Cmndrs choice, but truthfully, I don't see any reason to do this, Because we don't have a mall or anything. But it still is a possibility.

Nope. other than the fact we dont have a mall, it's too complicated for us to use points. remember when you make an idea, make sure it's different and easy to follow.

BATTLE DUNGEON! (idea)

So here's how it works:(ds only)
The challenger needs a team of trade fodder to trade for 1 starter and 5 dittos.
The starters are the following:
Venonat
Poochyena
Dratini
Mareep
Rioulu
Growlithe
Doduo
Shuppet
Cherubi
Cubone
Snorunt
Togepi
Gulpin
Ralts
Larvitar
Aron
Psyduck

Once the player is set, they will battle a specific player that is waiting on wifi.
You will only battle on poke at a time, once you faint their poke, their will then run away after showing what the next poke may be. You also have the option to obtain the poke by trading a ditto for it.
You will face the following in order:
6 NFEs (from a selection of 18)
5 NUs (from a selection of 15)
4 UUs (from a selection of 12)
2 BL/OUs (from a selection of 6)
1 Uber (from a selection of 3 [derp, forgot, number has been edited])
Frontier Brain (team of NFE/NU/UU/BL/OU/Uber)

Rules:
1. If you switch into a ditto, you lose.
2. If all your pokemon faint you lose.
3. Every pokemon that faints will be traded for a ditto.
4. You ARE NOT allowed to keep the pokes, and must trade them back for your trade fodder.
5. You are not allowed to stop once you started.
6. If you have to leave, return all the pokes and end the challenge.
7. Follow the guidelines that the instructor gives you, he will be using 3 different games to trade and battle you.
8. You can only trade dittos for other pokes.

(we still have to work out ALL the other pokes)

Here are the ideas i Recycled for battle frontier. each color coded:

well, one of my ideas is a nostalgic battle, you randomly select a number 1-4. which ever number you choose determines the generation you play by. that could include:

moves
items
abilities (up to the brain if there is a pokemon in gen 4 that has an ability gen 3 does not *ie. Tauros with Anger Point)
Pokemon (again up to the brain whether its generation exclusive, or the pokemon that were obtainable until then)

Contest battles. You are only allowed to use attacks related to a nature. (only use smart moves in a smart theme, cool moves in a cool theme)

Use 5 1V1 pokemon battles. Best out of 5 wins. No purpose suicides like explosion and destiny bonds

This one is interesting. This one I format like this:

You place pokemon in a format like this. You each take a turn making one pokemon attack another. You start with the front row (1,2,3) then the second row (4 and 5), then the final pokemon (6).

Interesting. I'd like to at least give them a try. So, OK, we'll see what happens.
